WHAT SHOULD I NOT PACK.
You will be surprised that some common items are not allowed on aircraft - remember you might be on the same aircraft.
Dangerous goods are totally unacceptable please see - Dangerous Goods
You will be signing a statutory declaration on the Jetta Excess Baggage Shippers Letter of Instruction which places the onus on you the shipper, for dangerous goods.
HOW DO I LABEL MY BAGGAGE.
Ensure that all items are clearly labeled both inside and outside in English. Every item must have name and address including country of destination. You may use the local language on additional labels. Name and address labels are available from your travel agent or airlines. ( Usually labels are with your airline ticket ).
HOW MUCH WEIGHT SHOULD I PACK PER ITEM.
For Health and Safety reasons we suggest that no more than 30 kilograms (60 pounds) be packed per item. We suggest if you cannot lift your baggage then how can our driver lift your baggage and most important of all when you arrive at your destination how do you pickup from the airport of destination.
Use common sense when you pack. You only pay for weight and not the number of pieces.
DO I SEAL MY BAGS, BOXES OR CARTONS.
YES - We do not need to know or see what is inside. All baggage is subject to x-ray examination and search if necessary. Jetta Excess Baggage or the International Airline will not open your baggage unless you are present. However, customs in any airport have the right to inspect without you present. Jetta Excess Baggage security seal all baggage in their offices prior to despatch overseas.
SHOULD I NUMBER THE ITEMS OF BAGGAGE.
YES - for more than one piece you should number each piece in case customs want to inspect at destination. Also see Packing List
SHOULD I DO A PACKING LIST.
You should complete a packing list of what you have packed and also for customs at the destination might require a packing list. See Packing List Jetta Excess Baggage do not require the packing list unless there is extra Insurance required.
